Titanium frame is good?

Titanium

Titanium is a versatile and abundant material that has become increaseingly common for use in ophthalmic frames. The advantages include the following:

Titanium is extremely light in weight. When compared with conventional metal frame materials, titanium is 48% lighter.

Titanium is very srong, which allows titanium frames to be designed exceedingly thin, Thiness also contributes to still more weight reduction.

Titanium is very corrosion resistant. This makes titanium an excellent choice for people in hot climates or those working in conditions where they would be prespiring a great deal.

Titanium is hypoallergenic. It should be noted that titanium is often used in combination with other metals. If the wearer is allergic to another of the metals in the alloy, then, unless the frame is appropriately coated, allergic reactions could still occur. But when titanium is not mixed with other metals, it is the metal of choice for those with skin allergies related to frame wear. This makes titanium a very attractive frame material for those with skin allergies.

When used in combination with other metals, titanium allows frames to be made so that they are very flexible. Without an appropriate coating on the frame, this would increase the likelihood of an allergic response for some.

The disadvantages of titanium are fewer. These include the following:

Titanium is hard to solder or weld.

Because the manufacturing process is more demanding, titanium is more expensive than conventional materials.

Caring for your spectacles

Keep your spectacles clean

Your spectacles should be cleaned regularly. We recommend that you use a dedicated micro-fibre cloth and glasses cleansing spray to clean your glasses. Do not use hot water or strong washing liquid to clean the lenses because they may damage the lens coatings or the frames. You can however use special micro-fibre cloth to clean the lenses because the cloth is made with ultra fine material that will carefully remove dust or grease.

Take good care of your spectacles when they are not in use

When placing your spectacles down, always make sure that the lenses do not come into contact with anything. This will help keep them scratch free and bright. Better still, always keep them in their protective case when not in use.

At FreeOptical, every glasses purchase comes with a special micro-fibre cloth and protective case. Thus, you can keep your spectacles safe and clean. This will ensure you always have your specs in top condition.

An AR coating is a thin, clear layer or layers applied to the surface of a lens. Its purpose is to:

2. Increase the amount of light that actually passes through the lens to the eye. (Such that people can see your eye and face clearer).

At FreeOptical, antireflection coating is included in the standard package. This is what we call an absolute OFFER !!

What is an Aspheric Lens?

What is an Aspheric Lens?

The term aspheric means "not spherical". The degree of curvature of a spheric lens is continuously uniform with a consistent radius of curvature throughout its entire surface, like that of a ball or sphere. An aspheric lens surface changes shape. It does not have the same radius of curvature over the entire surface. Aspherics are, generally speaking, based on a surface curvature that comes from a conic section. A conic section is a slice through a cone.
