Taking Care of Your Eyewear Frames the Right Way
When it comes to taking care of your glasses, one has to understand that it takes more than just plain and simple spit and polish methods to keep one’s prescription eyewear in mint condition. This is because most eyewear are specialized that they demand a tedious devotion for the smallest flaw: something that a lot of eyewear owners take for granted. This is because most eyeglass owners emphasize the lens and neglect about the frame: as long as the frame holds the lens in place, the eyewear is still useable.
However, any true owner of eyewear knows better than this; they know that keeping the frame in mint condition, especially frames made from titanium, is of prime importance because any eyewear with defective frames is no good at all. This knowledge stems from the fact that all eyewear is kept in place by the eyeglass frames that keep them together.
Keeping Your Eyewear in Top Condition
So the question remains: which one should receive priority attention: the lens or the frames? As any eyeglass owner would advice, keeping the lenses clean and spot-free will be great, but one also has to make sure that the frame is maintained well. That is why, in order to make one’s prescription eyewear fully maintained, one should remember the following tips:
- Watch out for loose screws. Typically, the edges of eyewear frames are dotted with screws designed to keep the arms of the frame together. However, due to constant usage, the screws may become loose. This is not really a problem in itself, but it may cause the eyewear to become ill-fitting. In such a manner, an eyewear is nothing more than just a décor hung around one’s eyes if it does not serve its main purpose of improving one’s eyesight. Whenever one sees that the screws have become loose, the immediate remedy is to tighten them a bit. In some instances, screws may come in with fancy names, although they are really nothing more than just a variation of the typical screws around.
- Eyewear frames will not be relevant without the appropriate nose pads around. The nose pads are intended to protect the nose bridge area of the wearer from any possible injuries caused by the tension of wearing an eyeglass. Replacing nose pads is relatively easy. All that one need is to pay attention to the manner by which the pads are placed: whether by screws, by a snapping motion, or by some sort of glue. In any case, seeing that the proper nose pad is in place is a way of making sure that the eyewear frame remains functional.
- Check the temple tips. Temple tips are meant to make wearing eyeglasses more comfortable. The main reason why they should be replaced is when they lose their smooth and glossy finish that makes them nothing more than just a magnet for one’s hairs.
Taking care of one’s eyeglass frames and lens is no difficult task. Doing the checking and replacing of loose parts on a regular basis should ensure every eyewear owner long-lasting eyepieces that serve their purposes well.
